The operational plan determining how the police will work in Malé and the bridge highway has been launched.

Police stated that the Traffic Enhancement Plan was inaugurated by the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Mohamed, at a ceremony held yesterday morning at Iskandharu Koshi 1.

During the ceremony, the Commissioner of Police met with the staff of Traffic Police and Road Management.

According to the police, the Traffic Police and Road Management plan outlines the methods and ways through which officers on duty in Malé and the bridge highway will carry out their operations.

Speaking at the meeting, the Commissioner of Police emphasized strengthening the efforts made by the police to ensure road safety and ease traffic congestion.

In this regard, the police noted that the Commissioner highlighted the recent increase in the number of officers active in traffic operations, urging them to prioritize boosting police presence in highly congested areas of Malé to minimize difficulties faced by the public.

In line with the Commissioner's appeal, Traffic and Road Management assured that police will be active in additional areas of Malé, beyond the locations currently patrolled, to minimize public inconvenience. The department also noted that efforts are underway to increase the number of staff in the field in the future to further expand traffic management operations.
