Visit Maldives has officially launched its "Visit Maldives Week" roadshow across three cities in Australia to strengthen the Maldives' presence in one of its key long-haul tourism markets.
The roadshow brings together Maldivian tourism industry partners with Australian travel trade professionals, media and influencers to promote the destination and build stronger business partnerships. It follows the launch of Maldivian's direct flights between Malé and Melbourne in May 2026.
Visit Maldives said the campaign aims to strengthen ties with travel agents, tour operators, wholesalers and other industry partners while showcasing the Maldives' diverse tourism experiences.
Australia is currently the Maldives' 10th largest source market. From January to May 2026, the Maldives welcomed 20,126 Australian visitors, a 14.1 per cent increase compared with the same period in 2025. Arrivals from Australia in May alone rose by 24.2 per cent year-on-year.
The roadshow, held in collaboration with 11 Maldivian tourism partners, features destination presentations, business-to-business meetings, networking sessions and promotional activities. Visit Maldives said the initiative is expected to increase destination awareness, strengthen industry partnerships and further expand the Maldives' presence in the Australian market.
