The Maldives Bureau of Statistics (MBS) has launched an Interactive Data Explorer portal, providing the public with easier access to key official statistics on inflation, economic performance and population trends.

The portal was launched on Monday to mark the fifth anniversary of the Statistics Act.

According to MBS, the platform allows users to interactively explore data on the Consumer Price Index (CPI), Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and population estimates through a user-friendly interface.

MBS said the portal is designed to make official statistics more accessible while improving public understanding of the country's economic and demographic trends.

The bureau noted that the Statistics Act has strengthened the legal and institutional framework for producing, managing and disseminating official statistics. MBS operates under the Ministry of Finance and Public Enterprises.
