Maldives Immigration has introduced a new passport service system aimed at modernising passport services and making them more accessible to the public.

The system was launched by Minister of Homeland Security, Labour and Technology Ali Ihusaan at a ceremony held on Thursday.

Immigration said the new system is designed to simplify the passport application process, reduce delays and provide faster, more convenient services.

The upgraded service also includes dedicated assistance for people who are not familiar with digital services. Immigration staff will help applicants complete online passport applications, including taking photographs and submitting the required information.

To further improve customer service, Immigration has established a comfortable waiting area and an information counter where applicants can easily obtain guidance and assistance.

Controller General of Immigration, Commissioner of Police (Retired) Ahmed Faseeh, said the initiative reflects President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's policy of bringing public services closer to the people. He added that Immigration's priority is to ensure passport services are easily accessible to all citizens across the Maldives without unnecessary inconvenience.
