The Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources has opened applications for 12 Bachelor's and Master's degree scholarships in fisheries, marine sciences and agriculture.

The scholarships are offered under the Transforming Fisheries Management in the South West Indian Ocean Region and Maldives (TRANSFORM) project, implemented by the Maldives Government in partnership with the World Bank.

The opportunities include four Bachelor's scholarships in fisheries, two scholarships in marine research and mariculture, and six Bachelor's and Master's scholarships in agriculture. Courses cover fields such as statistics, marine science, microbiology and plant protection.

Applicants for Master's programmes must hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and have at least two years of work experience. Bachelor's applicants must have passes in five GCE O Level subjects and three GCE A Level subjects with a minimum grade of C.

The scholarship package covers tuition fees, book, establishment and departure allowances, as well as a monthly stipend throughout the study period.

Applications must be submitted by 12:00 p.m. on 30 July. Forms can be submitted to the Ministry's Project Management Unit or emailed to [email protected].
