The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has forecast rough sea conditions across the country, with the possibility of swell surges affecting some islands during periods of high tide.

According to the Met Office, winds of 5 to 15 miles per hour are expected from the south-east and south in the southern atolls, and from the south and south-west elsewhere. Wind gusts may reach up to 30 miles per hour during squally weather.

Wave heights are forecast to range between 2 and 5 feet.

The Met Office also warned that some islands could experience swell surges during high tide due to the prevailing sea conditions.
