President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the work on the Addu City Link Road will begin and be completed in about a month.
Addressing a journalist's query regarding the project during a press conference held at the President's Office today, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu acknowledged that the development of the Addu Link Road has been significantly delayed.
"In truth, it has been severely delayed. We initially attempted to execute the work through RDC, but RDC's condition has been very poor from the start. However, the necessary equipment has now been purchased and delivered," the President said.
The President noted that the government is currently working with an international party to advance the project.
"We are working to move this forward at high speed. An international party has submitted a proposal that offers significant relief to the government, and that process is currently underway," he stated.
The President added that progress has reached a stage where the Addu Link Road project can proceed rapidly, assuring that physical work will commence within the next two to three weeks or a month and will continue uninterrupted until full completion.
