Kaashidhoo MP elect, Abdulla Jabir has said that the Supreme Court bench could not be changed, and that the judges have been appointed for the rest of their lives.

After losing the MDP primary for Parliamentary Election, Jabir was able to contest at the election following a Supreme Court ruling which nullified an article in the election regulations which barred anyone who has lost from a party primary in contesting in the relevant election.

Speaking to PSM News, Jabir noted that the court bench consisted of well deserving judges and that Chief Justice, Ahmed Abdulla Didi was indeed a very loyal and independent person free from any corrupt influences.

Jabir noted that he was rather close with the Supreme court justices, and noted that they all were people who had his respect. He went on to say that the justices were really close to everybody else as well.

Jabir stressed that he had never influenced any justices with bribes and added that those were things he hated dearly.
