Ibrahim Nazeem has been dismissed from his position as the Managing Director of the Road Development Corporation (RDC).
In a post on X today, the Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) stated that Ibrahim Nazeem has been removed from the post of RDC Managing Director and from the Board of Directors. It added that MTCC Managing Director Ahmed Saudhee has been appointed as the Acting Managing Director effective since yesterday.
Ibrahim Nazeem was appointed as RDC's Managing Director in July of last year. Prior to his appointment as RDC MD, Nazeem served as the State Minister at the Ministry of Construction. He had also previously served as the MD of the Maldives Road Development Corporation (MRDC) during former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom's administration.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu announced during a press conference held on the 7th of last month that the Cabinet has decided to dissolve RDC and merge it with MTCC. He stated that RDC primarily focuses on road construction, while MTCC also undertakes road building and other infrastructure projects.
While Ibrahim Nazeem has been removed as RDC Managing Director, Fenaka Corporation Managing Director Mohamed Afeef Hussain—whose company is currently undergoing dissolution and integration under STELCO—was also dismissed from his post yesterday.
